How long does the window tinting process take?

Tinting time varies from one vehicle to the next but our average installation time is about  2.5 hours. Some factors that may affect the time involved are: type of tint being applied, vehicle, and size of windows. How soon can I wash my car after having the windows tinted?

Because the tint film is installed on the inside of the car windows, the outside of the vehicle being washed (or rained on) will not cause damage to the newly applied tint. Just make sure to avoid cleaning the inside windows for about 7 days to ensure proper adhesion.

What is the law on auto tint in Lafayette, LA?

 

Lafayette, like all of Louisiana, follows the state guidelines below:

"(1)  A sun screening device when used in conjunction with automotive safety glazing materials on the front side window, with a light transmission of at least forty percent, all tolerances included, side window behind the driver with a light transmission of at least twenty-five percent, all tolerances included, and rearmost windows with a light transmission of at least twelve percent, all tolerances included.  All sun screening devices shall not have a luminous reflectance of more than twenty percent.

(2)  A transparent material, not red or amber in color, affixed to the topmost portion of the windshield not to extend more than five inches down from the top."
